Engine
This SL320 is equiped with the new for 1998 V6 engine, replacing the straight six that had powered previous SL320's. Cleaner, more powerful and quieter than before, Mercedes used lightweight materials including aluminium and magnesium for components including the crankshaft and intake manifold, the V6 is also 20kg lighter than the previous straight six. The V6 also benefits from a twin spark engine, fired in a phase shift patrern, making for more power and better economy.
Gearbox
The five speed gearbox is an "intelligent" unit built by Mercedes Benz (as with all MB cars). The electronically controlled gearbox recognises your driving style and the prevailing road conditions.
Standard features include ABS, alloy wheels, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, heated seats and air conditioning.
Interior
Orion Grey Nappa leather to the electrically operated seats with a light grey carpet, coupled with the panoramic glass hard top, makes for a light and airy driving experience with this particular SL320.
Exterior
The Brilliant Silver exterior really suits the SL combined with factory standard alloy wheels with Michelin tyres all round, this really is a stunning example of the Mercedes Benz R129 series SL. The hydraulically operated black fabric roof is like new, and replacement plastic windows have been recently fitted.
